Our Beliefs Concerning
Alternative and Conventional Medicine

Over the years we have seen monumental changes in the field of medicine. Many of these changes have been good, and some have been awesome, such as the technical advances involved in CT scans, PET scans, MRI's and the like. Most of these marvelous advances have been in the diagnostic areas.

Of course, credit must be given also for many of the miraculous surgical procedures that have been developed in recent years in this country, along with advanced emergency procedures.

While all of these laudable goals have been achieved and continue to advance at a dizzying pace, there are other areas of medicine which lag far behind as to real progress, namely the treatment of chronic degenerative diseases, especially cancer.

This glaring discrepancy has not been lost on many of the patients afflicted with these disorders, since visits to alternative practitioners now account for nearly 50% of all patient visits to health care providers.

Cancer research, with some notable recent exceptions, has continued its research in the same basic direction for the last half century or more, seeking that elusive "magic bullet" through development of ever more toxic synthetic chemicals. It is our belief that the lack of progress in cancer treatment in this country persists precisely because of the absolute dominance of this focus on cancer research and therapy, and the deliberate exclusion of all other approaches to this disease.

At Reno Integrative Medical Center, our philosophy is to embrace many different treatment modalities, offering the best of both traditional and alternative approaches to health care.
